Visit to SEQUOIA SAKE

2016/6/23
On March 12, Consul Hamasaki and Vice Consul Mochizuki visited Sequoia Sake in San Francisco. They received an explanation of the background of sake brewing, as well as the brewing process itself. Until now, sake was almost always imported from Japan to the U.S. by Japanese distributors. However, Americans who have trained at sake breweries in Japan have recently begun establishing breweries in the U.S., where they make sake using local ingredients. The Consulate members came to understand the reason for San Francisco’s growing interest in sake.
