The 16th Annual Hakone Matsuri Japanese Festival

On Sunday, May 17 and 16, Hakone Matsuri Festival was held at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga. Acting Consul General Nobuhiro Watanabe attended the opening ceremony and sake cask breaking. Attendees were entertained by a variety of cultural attractions and performances, as well as a wide array of Japanese cuisine. The consulate also held an information booth and distributed materials on education, travel, and culture in Japan.
This year marks the beginning of a multi-year celebration as Hakone Gardens recognizes its 100th anniversary.
