"The Birth of Sake" Film Screening at the 3rd Japan Film Festival

On Saturday, August 15, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco in partnership with the Japanese Film Festival (a part of J-POP Summit) screened “The Birth of Sake” a US documentary which gave an inside look at the Tedorigawa sake brewery in Ishikawa Prefecture. With over 150 attendees, the screening for the documentary was a full house. Following the screening, a discussion and Q&A session was helped with director Erik Shirai. With sponsorship from Takara Sake, attendees observed Japanese kagami-wari (Sake barrel breaking ceremony), and enjoyed sampling sake prior to the screening of the documentary.
