The Signing of two Memorandums of Understanding between GO-Biz and NEDO

On Thursday, September 10, Consul General Yamada served as a witness to the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding between the State of California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) from Japan, focusing on two smart community demonstration projects on electric vehicle driving behavior and new grid-use battery performance in California.
The signing ceremony took place at GO-Biz Office in Sacramento, with Acting Director of GO-Biz, Ms. Panorea Avdis, signing for California and Chief of Energy and Environment of NEDO, Dr. Hiroshi Kuniyoshi, signing for Japan. Also in attendance were various state officials representing the following agencies, CalEPA, CARB, California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative, CEC, CPUC, as well as, SMUD, Nissan North America, Sumitomo Electric and San Diego Gas & Electric.
