Volunteering at California Coastal Cleanup Day

2016/6/25
On Saturday, September 19, the California Coastal Commission hosted California Coastal Cleanup Day. 20 volunteers from the Consulate General of Japan and JCCNC (the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California) participated, including Consul General Yamada. They joined the event to express their gratitude to the people of California, the state government, and the ocean itself. The California Coastal Commission reported that over 50,000 volunteers participating at almost 900 locations across California collected over 300 tons of trash. The Consulate General of Japan looks forward to participating in more volunteer activities in the future.
