Annual Bell Ringing Ceremony at the Asian Art Museum

On Thursday, December 31, the Asian Art Museum hosted the 30th Annual Japanese New Year’s Bell Ringing Ceremony at the Samsung Hall, which Consul General Jun Yamada participated in. The ceremony, which more than 500 people participated in, began with a purification ritual and chanting of the Buddhist Heart Sutra by Reverend Gengo Akiba, and then Consul General Yamada rang the bell, followed by participants in groups of 4 to 6 ringing the bell.
