Conferment Ceremony of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation to Dr. Kuniko Takeuchi

On Tuesday, March 1st, Consul General Yamada conferred upon Dr. Kuniko Takeuchi the Foreign Minister's Commendation in honor of the 70th anniversary of the end of the war at the Consul General's official residence. Dr. Takeuchi was recognized for her contributions to the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between the United States and Japan through her dedication to instructing and supporting the martial art of Judo in the United States and internationally. She is currently one of the highest ranked female judo practitioners in the world.
