12th Annual Japanese Speech Contest in Southern Nevada

On Saturday, March 12, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco and the Southern Nevada Japanese Teachers' Association (President: Mr. Michael Lee) held the 12th Annual Japanese Speech Contest at Las Vegas Academy of Arts.

A total of 25 contestants participated this year and each contestant ably demonstrated their knowledge and proficiency of the Japanese language. From the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, Deputy Consul General Watanabe attended the contest as the head judge. Honorary Consul General Kathleen Blakely and former Honorary Consul General Wayne Tanaka also participated in the event.

Finally, we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all the winners and commend all the contestants for their hard work.
