Opening Event for High Definition Ukiyo-e Exhibition

On Thursday, April 7, the Japan Information and Cultural Center of the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco held an opening event for exhibition of high definition Ukiyo-e reproductions. About 25 people attended. Speakers from both Hibiya Computer Systems and Hitachi were present to speak about the process used in digitizing and reproducing these works.
For the first time in the United States, the exhibition features 20 reproduced masterpieces in multiple scales and highlights the extreme detail that this technology can deliver. The exhibit will be on display in the Japan Information and Cultural Center Gallery until Thursday, April 21. Please visit if you have the chance.
