Farewell speeches by graduating students in both Japanese and English
On May 19, Consul General Yamada attended a Farewell Ceremony for the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program (JBBP) at Rosa Parks Elementary School and he congratulated the 35 graduating 5th graders with these words, " I hope that you will use what you've learned in school and work to become a bridge between Japan and the US." Following the ceremony, Consul General Yamada took part in a Cherry Tree planting ceremony on the school grounds.
