Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2016

On July 13, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the recipients of the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for 2016. This year, Commendations will be awarded to 142 individuals and 31 organizations (25 individuals and 7 organizations are from Japan, and 117 individuals and 24 organizations are from overseas). Within the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco’s jurisdiction, the following 3 individuals and 1 organization have been selected for their contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding between the United States and Japan, and will be awarded a certificate of commendation by the Consul General at a later date.
The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. The Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public towards the activities and recipients.
