Congratulatory remarks by Consul General Yamada
Keynote speech by Dr. Uchida
On Friday, September 16th, Consul General Yamada attended the 11th US-Japan Future Forum at San Jose State University. This year’s forum focused on the theme, “The Man Who Spread Judo in the U.S. –Yosh Uchida-”, in celebration of Dr. Uchida’s 70th anniversary as head Judo coach at San Jose State University.
Dr. Uchida gave a keynote speech about his life with Judo, followed by his students Ms. Marti Malloy and Mr. Colton Brown, both Judo athletes of Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, who shared their experiences. Participants also had a chance to listen to presentations by American and Japanese students on the future US-Japan relations through sports promotion.
