On Saturday, November 19, Consul General Yamada attended the Japan Society of Northern California’ 30th Annual Award of Honor Gala and gave a welcome message and toast. Around 250 people attended the Gala, honoring President Hiroshi Mikitani of Rakuten, Inc., Director Hayao Miyazaki, and Studio Ghibli who were each recognized for their contributions in strengthening US-Japan relations in the business and art worlds.
