On Monday, December 5, 2016, Consul General Yamada attended the Foreign Minister’s Commendation ceremony honoring Dr. T. J. Pempel. Since the 1970s, Dr. Pempel has studied and taught Japanese political economy and has been instrumental in promoting mutual understanding and contributing to the friendship between Japan and the United States through his activities at universities and US-Japan related organizations.
