Consul Dambara answers students’ questions during a panel discussion
On Tuesday, November 4, representatives from KIKKOMAN FOODS, INC., the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California, and the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco visited CSU Sacramento to talk about Japanese Businesses in Northern California.

The event featured a presentation from KIKKOMAN FOODS, INC. talking about their business expansion into the U.S. and an overview of their business in Japan and overseas. Additionally, a panel discussion was held to discuss Japanese business etiquette and customs, with the aim of supporting the future career advancement of Japanese language learners.

The students enjoyed listening to the presentations, panel discussion, and talking with the representatives during a meet and greet. Many students asked questions about Japanese workplace culture and advice on the pathway for them to find work in Japan.

We hope that this opportunity to showcase local Japanese companies gave the students some insight on the values of Japanese businesses and the different industries and activities these businesses are engaged in here in Northern California!
